Hometown Hero Award

Congratulations to Jimmy Huntington on being the 2026 Kaposia Days Hometown Hero!

Jim “Jimmy” Huntington, a familiar face at many South St. Paul High School games and city events, served as a member of the South St. Paul Police Reserve for 45 years, beginning in 1980.  His service to South St. Paul was all volunteer, saving the city time and money for decades.  His dedication made a position impact in our community. 

The reason Jimmy began volunteering was because he felt called to step up to protect the community he loves. Throughout the years, he has seen many changes to South St. Paul, met the challenges with a smile and always put his South St. Paul neighborly attitude first. He has held the role of Reserve Captain within the Reserves because of his leadership experience, and knowledge. He continues to put South St. Paul first. He was honored with James’s “Jimmy” Huntington Day upon his retirement in 2025.
