2026 Community Grand Marshal<\/h3>\t\t\t

This year’s Community Grand Marshal is local artist and owner of Rembrandt’s Sister, Jaclee Slaba!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank\u00a0you,\u00a0Kaposia\u00a0Days Committee,\u00a0for this honor. When I first heard the news, to be honest, I was a little shocked, so much so, that I went to several board members to make sure they\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0have someone else who would be more worthy of this honor. I was encouraged to accept, so here I am.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was asked to write a little blurb about myself but frankly I am uncomfortable talking about myself, so I will focus not on who I am but what I am.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some or most of you know me through my posts on the local Facebook pages where I\u00a0showcase\u00a0different projects that I have been working on\u00a0in and around the community.\u00a0I never post with the intention of \u201clook\u00a0what I can do\u201d but with \u201clook\u00a0what this business or person is doing\u201d,\u00a0trying to encourage other people to be creative by showing what can be done.\u00a0If I can get people to be more artistic or creative, whether they hire me or not,\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0reached my goal.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0I am grateful for\u00a0all of\u00a0the business I have received and thankful that people have chosen\u00a0this artist\u00a0to be the creative tool to make their ideas come to life.\u00a0The cherry on top is that\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0gotten to know so many wonderful people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are so many talented artists\u00a0in this community\u2026\u00a0from ones like me to photographers, sculpturers,\u00a0theartre\u00a0geeks,\u00a0dancers,\u00a0musicians, and\u00a0creative individuals\u2026.\u00a0and they will\u00a0ride along with me in the parade, in spirit.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you\u00a0South St. Paul and the\u00a0Kaposia\u00a0Days Committee, for celebrating the arts\u00a0&\u00a0the creative spirit!!\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
